About me

My dyslexic scribblings began 5 or 6 years ago after I saw a book by David Shrigley at the Tate Modern. His drawings were (and still are) hilarious and it showed me that you don’t need any conventional artistic ‘talent’ to make something thought provoking or at the very least something amusing. So I started putting pen to paper and drawing all the time. Five years later, I now sometimes refer to my drawings as ‘illustrations’ and compared to the first few years the drawings are much better now. I find them very amusing and hopefully you will too.

Thank you for taking the time to find out more about me and my work! (I am quite honoured I must say.) The goal of what I’m doing is to escape the system, work for myself and start a smallholding with my amazing wife.

I also have a real passion and make a real effort to use almost entirely recycled or biodegradable materials in my work so any packaging used to send items out will be along this same theme.

I have a shop on Folksy if you’re interested in buying any cards, magnets or stickers.  Also…my lovely website (at http://www.joehurrycreations.co.uk) is being built by my beautiful wife Jenny as we speak – so watch this space.

That’s all for now! If you have any questions just message me and I’ll do my best to respond quickly and coherently. Thanks again for reading.

Good Day.

Joe
